Street and Road Signs and Door Numbers

AREA OF USE: They are obligated within the scope of the Population Services Law National Address Database Project. Address Information System is being realized in order to enable counting census and allowing citizens to carry out their public transactions comfortably and problem-free without necessitating going on the streets. The system to be applied in all provinces and districts will be opened for shared use of all public institutions, and ensure accessing correct information at every level from electricity to water, statistics to tax information, security to social security in a very short time. The aims is to give an end to address conflict, and bring a standard for street names and building numbers.

PLACES OF USE: Sign plates with the names of streets are placed at the entrance and exit of all streets and roads, and for door numbers on the front façades of buildings.

PRODUCTION MEASURES: Street road signs can be made of galvanized sheet, anodic aluminum or enamel. The backgrounds and texts of the signs can be made of reflective materials or various paints.

STANDARD: They are manufactured according to the provisions of related directive within the scope of National Address Database foreseen by the Census Services Law no. 5490.
