Glass Granulate
Definition:
Glass granulates are defined as the materials which are poured on paints, thermoplastic, cold, double component, etc. road line paints after they are applied on road surfaces. They reflect the light from the headlights of a vehicle back to the driver as transparent, glass granulates which are used for ensuring night view of road signs.
Appearance:
Glass granulates must be clean, transparent and colorless with smooth surface and spherical shape, there should not be any cracked or broken glass granulates. Any other materials should not be added in glass granulates for any reason.
Chemical Durability:
Glass granulates must be resistant against water, hydrochloric acid, calcium chloride, and sodium chloride. Upon its contact with any one of them, any clouding or matting should not occur on the surface of glass granulates.
Standard:
Grain size dispersion of glass granulates is in accordance with the standard TS EN 1423/April 2003.
